Epping to Ongar

As many people will remember, the London Underground's Central Line used to go all the way to Ongar. In 1994 the single-track line from Epping to Ongar was closed, and it's now run as a preserved railway by the Epping-Ongar Railway Volunteer Society.

The EOR is currently in a period of shutdown for engineering work, and they were kind enough to grant me permission to walk the six miles of their line last weekend. It was an interesting trip, as the line is a combination of London Underground and mainline engineering.

The photos are available here.

Again, after reading your rules on photography on the London Underground, I was fascinated by this page! I have now completed my task to photograph every single station on the network, but I was in awe of your track walk to Ongar! If only I knew about it!!!! How did it feel?

How long did it last? I am really interested! And what is left of Blake Hall?
